I was born in 1978 and grew up with my brother and sister in Brooke County in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia at the peak of the Steel Industry boom. During my elementary, middle, and high school years, I experienced the decline of the Steel Industry and how the economy was eroding and affecting families. Even with the suffering economy, the people of the Northern Panhandle did not let this affect their core values. I came from a community that was passionate about family, faith, and work ethic.

Brooke High School was a consolidated school of Wellsburg and Follansbee and had a prominent Football Program in West Virginia. My Father was one of the original Math and Art teachers when the school opened in 1969. My dream was to play football for Brooke High School; however, my Mother was a Nurse and knew of the affects head injuries could cause. Long story short, I was able to develop the skill of place-kicking during my childhood and convinced my Mother that it was safe enough to play this position. I was able to play for Brooke High as a Freshman and we made it to the State Championship against Dupont High, led by Randy Moss. We got spanked, but it was a great experience. My Senior year, I was named AAA All-State Place-Kicker and was given an invited Walk-on to Marshall University. After a year-and-a-half and realizing my spot of the depth chart, I decided to transfer to Fairmont State College (now University) to play immediately. I was coached one-on-one by a former punter of Florida State University and learned how to effectively place-kick and punt. I went on to become an All-American in Punting my Sophomore year and an All-American in Place-kicking my Junior year. During the years I was at Fairmont State, we were 26-13 and just missed the playoffs my Sophomore and Junior Seasons. I went into Fairmont State with the plan to major in Business Administration, and I ended up graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, Management, and Marketing.

After College, I went to training camp for the Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League, and after being released, played some Arena Football in both Richmond, VA and Fayetteville, NC.

Once the funds ran too low, I decided to hang up the cleats and go to work in the Accounting field as soon as possible. With my finance at the time obtaining a Masters in Biology at Villanova University, I was able to find employment in Alexandria, VA. After 2 years, we were both able to find a jobs in Morgantown, West Virginia. I accepted a position as a Staff Accountant with Toothman Rice PLLC in November of 2004 and have been with the Company ever since. I have progressed my way through the Firm and am now a Senior Manager of the Morgantown Office of the now Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP.

I have been happily married to my high school sweet-heart Erin for 12 years now and we raise two young boys: Toby (8) and Jesse (7). My family is my passion and I will do anything a good husband and father would do to help out.
