Adrienne Worthy is currently executive director of the non-profit organization, Legal Aid of West Virginia, a position she has held for more than 8 years. Prior to assuming her current position, she was the director of two other regional legal aid organizations in West Virginia. As executive director, she oversees the statewide provision of non-criminal legal services and advocacy to some of West Virginia’s most vulnerable residents including the elderly, individuals with behavioral health concerns, domestic violence victims and those struggling in poverty. Previously Adrienne directed the West Virginia Women’s Commission for six years, where she worked on issues impacting women and girls through advocacy, education and research. Adrienne has had a varied career as a reporter, door-to-door citizen activist, writer, researcher and public relations official. She is active in a variety of social justice and kids sports organizations. Adrienne has lived in the state for the past twenty nine years and she considers herself a West Virginian (by choice), despite growing up in Ohio. She and her husband own an old farmhouse in Elkview, where they live with the youngest of their three sons, and with three cats.
