Jennifer Ours Williams graduated from the WVU with a BSA in animal and veterinary science in 1988. The Hardy County native received her master’s degree in 1990, majoring in agriculture education. After three years serving the West Virginia Department of Agriculture as a livestock marketing specialist, she moved to Buckhannon to begin her career with the West Virginia University Extension Service as Upshur County agricultural agent. Jennifer served in this capacity for 10 years, developing and implementing agricultural and natural resource programs at the local and state levels. In January of 2003, Jennifer moved to Morgantown to become the associate director of the WVU Extension Service Center for Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Community Development. In 2004, she was named director of Agriculture and Natural Resources for Extension. She works closely with Extension agents throughout the state to assess needs and develop programming to meet those needs. Among the honors she has received are Team Excellence, Individual Program Excellence, and New Employee Excellence awards from WVU Extension; the Distinguished Alumni Award from the WVU College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences Alumni Association; and the Achievement Award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents. Jennifer is a member of the West Virginia Cattlemen’s Association, West Virginia Poultry Association, West Virginia 4-H All Stars, West Virginia and Taylor County Farm Bureau, Gamma Sigma Delta (agriculture honorary), and Epsilon Sigma Phi (Extension honorary). Jennifer lives in Bridgeport with her husband, Bob.
