Kelley Gillenwater is External Affairs Manager for West Virginia American Water, the largest investor-owned water utility in the state. In this role, which she has held since October of 2008, she oversees media relations, advertising, event sponsorships, educational outreach – essentially all external communications and external events for the company. Kelley is also involved in the West Virginia section of the American Water Works Association, for which she serves as assistant secretary-treasurer; and the West Virginia Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network, for which she volunteers as communications chair. She also was recently asked to join the steering committee for the West Virginia Business Volunteer Council. Before coming to West Virginia American Water, Kelley spent 10 years with The Associated Press in Charleston, where she worked as a reporter and broadcast editor. Kelley graduated from Marshall University in 1998 with a degree in journalism. The Clay County, W.Va., native currently resides in Culloden with her husband Marty.
