Cassey Bowden graduated from Marshall University with a BA, Marketing and Economics and the MU Graduate School of Management with an MS, Industrial Employee Relations. During graduate school she, interned with Dr. Lorraine Anderson and Dr. Calvin Kent in Lewis College of Business at Marshall University – as student academic advisor and in partnership with Dr. Kent to develop a survey for publication for the Energy Information Association. She went on to work as the Human Resources Coordinator for three colleges including, University of Charleston, Alderson-Broaddus College and Ohio Valley Parkersburg. Cassey began working with United Way of the River Cities in April of 2004 as the Director of Resource Development & Marketing. She continues to work on developing marketing materials and media plans for programs and initiatives and facilitate fundraising efforts for the organization. In addition to conducting annual employee work place campaigns in a five county service area, her focus is on developing year round fundraising strategies. With the help of many volunteers and staff, she most recently raised $1.1 million via workplace campaigns, special events, grants, etc. Cassey’s husband, Wes is a Firefighter for the City of Huntington. They welcomed their first child Ryley Cole Bowden to their family May 19, 2007 – now 2 1/2 years old. She is an active member in the community – Member of Rotary Club of Huntington, formerly Public Relations and Program Chairperson and currently Sergeant of Arms, Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Member, Women 2 Women Sub-Committee Chairperson, and Young Professionals Committee (YPC) member.
